Eligibility:
-Applicants for all scholarships should be completing an Honours degree or a four-year degree program with Honours, or hold a Masters degree.
-The Scholarships are open to domestic and international students with an Australian primary scholarship or International Postgraduate Research Scholarships (IPRS).
-Scholarships are open to new students, and students who are in their first enrolled year. Applicants must secure an Australian Postgraduate Award (APA) or equivalent scholarship, or an IPRS.

International Scholarships for International Students: Yes

Scholarship Description: This prestigious award has been established in honour of Emeritus Professor Nancy Millis AC MBE. Professor Millis is a microbiologist of international repute who has made enormous contributions in agriculture, environmental protection, medicine and engineering. Nancy Millis is also a leader in environmental management. As a researcher, she was aware early of the importance of clean water, and developed techniques to treat industrial wastewater. She was Chair of the Victorian Government’s Water Strategy Committee advising on the supply and use of water for the Melbourne area. Nancy was the Chairman of the Cooperative Research Centre for Water Quality and Treatment from 1995 – 2008, when it ended. In 1977, she became a Member of the British Empire (MBE) and in 1990 was made a Companion of the Order of Australia (AC).

- Demonstrate an active interest in rural affairs and a desire to contribute to the future of rural NSW
- Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident

Scholarship for International Students Scholarships: No

Scholarship Description: Rural Scholarships are available to support individuals in NSW who demonstrate a passion for rural issues and whose studies will add value to rural communities. Several scholarships to the value of $5,000 for full-time study or up to $1,500 for part-time study are available.

Eligibility: The David Hastings Bursary shall be open to competition among candidates who:

Scholarship Description: David Hastings Bursary students with a physical disability or other impairment who are full-time undergraduate students whose normal domicile is to the North of the 22nd degree of South latitude in the State of Queensland .The value of the bursary shall be determined by the Selection Committee from time to time. The value of scholarship is $1,000.

2011 Scholarships in Field Robotics Rio Tinto Centre for Mining Automation, Australia

Postgraduate Scholarships International in the field of Robotics at University of Sydney in Australia -2011

Scholarships 2011 Description: The Australian Centre for Field Robotics (ACFR) at the University of Sydney has established a major new Centre for Mine Automation. Rio Tinto, a global mining company, has committed $21 million of funding for an initial period of five years for this new Centre. The aim of the Centre for Mining Automation is to develop and implement the vision of a fully autonomous, remotely operated mine.


The ACFR is seeking students interested in PhD research in the area of autonomous systems, including data fusion, perception, control, learning and systems to be part of this exciting new initiative and apply for a full time scholarship sponsored by Rio Tinto.There is no closing date for this opportunity. Applications are now open year round and successful applicants are expected to commence at the start of either semester one or semester two.
