Scholarship Description: The National Korean American Service & Education Consortium (NAKASEC) and our affiliates the Korean American Resource & Cultural Center (KRCC) and the Korean Resource Center (KRC) are excited to announce the launch of our DREAM Scholarship Fund Founded in 2007 by Korean American youth who for the past decade have campaigned for the passage of the DREAM Act, the Dream Scholarship Fund will award several $1,000 scholarships to students in California, Illinois and nationwide who face undue financial hardships. The scholarships are created largely through grassroots fundraising within our communities and by our student organizing groups, Fighting Youth Shouting Out for Humanity (FYSH) in Chicago and Alliance of Korean American Students in Action (AKASIA) in Los Angeles.

Scholarships Description: The Oslo School of Architecture and Design calls for applications to the open, full-time position as PhD research fellow for a three year period (1 August 2011 to 30 July 2014). The research fellow will be part of a large research project called Scarcity and Creativity in the Built Environment (SCIBE) funded by the European Union, HERA Program.The PhD position is based either at the Institute of Architecture or at the Institute of Urbanism and Landscape and requires full time residence throughout the three year period, including participation in the research education programme.
Applicants must hold a master’s degree or equivalent in a field of relevance to the SCIBE project. Preference will be given to applicants that:
Have undertaken research in a field relevant to the SCIBE project
Have experience of field-work and/or archival work.
Have published work.
Are fluent in Norwegian and English.

Scholarships Description: The Royal Society of Victoria has established three prestigious prizes open to post-graduate – doctoral students in all areas of Biological, Physical and Earth Sciences. These prizes are designed to recognise good science and proovide students further experience in presenting information to an audience of scientists and the general public on their particular research field. Students have the opportunity, if they wish, to participate in the Society’s mentoring program, whereby they receive mentoring in their chosen field by senior scientists who are Members of the Society
These prizes are awarded to students in their second to fourth year of their doctoral candidature at the time of application. Students should submit an extended abstract and application form by Tuesday, 31 May 2011. From these, the judges will select a short list of two to three candidates in each of the fields of Biological, Physical and Earth Sciences.Each of the short-listed candidates will give an oral PowerPoint presentation (15 minutes, 5 minutes discussion) before a general audience at the Society on Tuesday, 16 August 2011 commencing from 6:15 p.m. The winners are announced on the night and the monetary prize and certificate awarded.
