For Full-Time International Students , Up to 2 study scholarships each worth one half (50%) of the 2010/11 full-time annual tuition fee for international student, Closing date to be considered for a full-time international MA Study Scholarship -31 March 2011, If you have not been contacted by the School of Education by 30 April, you may assume you have no been awarded an MA Study Scholarship for 2011/12.
For Full-Time UK/EU Students, Up to 3 study scholarships each worth one half (50%) of the 2011/12 full-time annual tuition fee for UK/EU students, Closing date to be considered for for Full-time UK/EU MA Study scholarship – 31 May 2011,If you have not been contacted by the School of Education by 30 June, you may assume you have not been awarded an MA Study Scholarship for 2011/12.

Study Subject: Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) Of Retrofit Processes in Shipyards

Scholarship Level: Postdoctoral
Scholarship Description: Applications from the fields of engineering and environmental science are invited for a research associate to work on an EU-FP7 funded project on life cycle analysis (LCA) of retrofit processes in shipyards. The successful candidate will work with partners of a large research consortium across Europe, identifying a suitable method/tool for the LCA, collecting and processing data, executing LCA simulation and analysing results. The candidate should have, or expect to have gained by the time of the appointment, a PhD or equivalent in an appropriate discipline, such as, marine technology, general engineering or environmental science. A developing publication record in peer-reviewed international journals is essential.
The candidate is expected to be highly self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Good verbal and written communication skills are essential, as are proven abilities in project planning and time management. Experience in LCA will be desirable.
A letter of application telling us why you have the energy, skills, knowledge and understanding of Higher Education or other ‘Not for profit’ sectors to make a real and strategic difference in the post described, A completed application form to which a full curriculum vitae should be attached. The names and addresses of three referees should be given on the application form.
